Mindful Neighboring - Sarah Stephens

Sarah Stephens

Hello neighbors! I hope to share with you the value of attending the “Mindful Neighboring” workshop I facilitate for the Neighborhood Connections Program. Currently, I work as the Program Coordinator of Involvement in the Student Leadership, Involvement, and Community Engagement (SLiCE) office at Colorado State University (CSU). My role works to advocate for, educate, and advise nearly 500 student organizations at the University. Yet, my favorite “task” is to facilitate soft skills workshops helping college student leaders be more mindful with their peers, intentional with their relationships, and confident as they build community. Similarly, this “Mindful Neighboring” workshop focuses on increasing confidence amongst neighbors as they make early connections with each other, teaches subtle yet effective ways to be more inclusive and welcoming, and aims to help people be more intentional in their interactions to build a healthier, safer, and friendlier neighborhood for all.
