Update 6/19/2020: City Council unanimously adopted the 2020 Strategic Plan on April 7, 2020. The final document is available online and will help inform the City's 2021 budget development process.

Update 2/7/2020: Thank you for your feedback! Based on community input from surveys on this page, as well as from a variety of public outreach events in late 2019, City staff are finalizing a draft 2020 Strategic Plan, which Council will discuss at their Feb. 25 Work Session.

The Work Session agenda and supporting materials, including the draft plan, will be available online approximately Feb. 20.


The City of Fort Collins is updating its Strategic Plan, and we want to know what's most important to you.

The Strategic Plan is the City's five-year road map that articulates community priorities, ways to measure success and aligns work across projects and departments. The outcomes and objectives identified in the plan will directly affect the development of the 2021-2022 City of Fort Collins budget and will guide the work the City does over the next several years.

The plan is currently organized by seven Outcome Areas:

  1. Neighborhood Livability and Social Health
  2. Culture and Recreation
  3. Economic Health
  4. Environmental Health
  5. Safe Community
  6. Transportation
  7. High Performing Government

The City is reviewing the plan to ensure that it reflects your needs and priorities. Your feedback will be reviewed, compiled and used by staff and Council as they finalize the 2020 Strategic Plan.
