RSVP for the Community Summit!
Now that the Housing Strategic Plan has been adopted by City Council, we’d like to hear your voices again! Our Community Summit workshops will allow you to discuss how strategies in the Housing Strategic Plan will impact your community, work together with other Fort Collins residents to consider metrics for success, and to give feedback on how the City can maintain transparency throughout the implementation process.
There are three dates for the Summit. You do not have to attend all three, but you are more than welcome to attend each! Participants will receive a $40 stipend for each Summit date they attend. Each date will focus on a different theme and the Housing Strategic Plan strategies that relate to it:

The City's Housing Strategic Plan Update!
Housing Strategic Plan Update:
On February 16, City Council unanimously adopted the Housing Strategic Plan and appropriated funds to support housing-related Land Use Code updates! You can read the adoption draft of the plan here. Thank you to everyone who shared their stories, gave feedback, and participated in the development of the plan. We are looking forward to moving into implementation, starting with a community summit later this spring. Stay tuned for more details, and sign up for regular updates at https://ourcity.fcgov.com/home2health!
Larimer County Housing Study:
We’re excited to move forward, and we also know that housing challenges are not limited to Fort Collins. Many people live outside Fort Collins and commute to work in the City, and our housing system is something we need to look at from a regional perspective. We’re excited to share that our partners in Larimer County are conducting a study of housing challenges as part of the development of a county-wide housing strategy. To participate and learn more about this effort, visit https://larimer.housingimpactlab.com/. The study is open until February 28!
What’s next?
To be fully adopted, City Council needs to vote twice to adopt the ordinances. City Council will vote on both the Housing Strategic Plan and the Land Use Code appropriation on Second Reading at their hearing on March 2. Information about how to participate in the Council hearing is available here: https://www.fcgov.com/council/councilcomments#cb-39024-6678. To submit written comments, email cityleaders@fcgov.com (include “Housing Strategic Plan” in the subject line).

Home2Health is a collaborative, two-year project led by the City of Fort Collins Planning and Social Sustainability Departments. We are joined in this work by our community partners - The Family Leadership Training Institute at CSU Extension, the Center for Public Deliberation at CSU, The Family Center/La Familia, and the Larimer County Department of Health and Environment.
Our objective over the next two years is to implement updates to policies, codes, and regulations to improve housing affordability with a specific emphasis on health equity. This effort will be based on community dialogue and capacity building - so that the voices and ideas of community members who are experiencing the day-to-day reality of housing instability are reflected in the policy decisions we make.
This project is being funded by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment's Health Disparities Grant Program. For more information about the grant program, visit https://www.colorado.gov/pacific/cdphe/health-disparities-grant-program.
