The next 10 years of City effort should be on becoming a more urban community, greater density, more interesting neighborhoods. Invest in urban-ness.But, in the planning period, 20 years, there's a very good chance of a major disruption -- fire, flood, disease, loose nuke, major lose of life event, etc. We as a community need to prepare for an unexpected, serious disruption. We should strengthen the organizations we would normally rely upon -- fire, police, National Guard, -- to handle catastrophic events. Engage the community. Democracy over authoritarianism.

What is the plan with the many apartment buildings surrounding the Mall? Is this to be ‘affordable housing’?

Would have liked to be an Ambassador, but hosting at our home is not an option. I will keep informed on progress and other opportunities to get involved. Thanks
